The current code base is currently being upgraded to the latest stable release of Ruby on Rails version 3.0.7.
I hope to have a release out in the next couple of weeks. This will lay the ground work for fixing raised bugs and implementing some feature requests.
The next main goal will be to release a usable RESTful API, with the aim of allowing users an easy way to export and import their data.
Our hosting provider, Flexiscale, has requested we move from our existing datacenter to a newer, faster, better one which they have just opened up.
You may experience a short down time today as this change happens and as DNS records refresh across the web.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
This weekend, from the evening of the 7th to the 8th August our hosting provider, Flexiscale, experienced issues with our production and development servers while performing scheduled maintanance.
After working with them we’ve restored the site this morning.
YFL would like to offer ourĀ apologiesĀ for the down time; but luckily it was the weekend, and most of your would have been out flying ;)
The marketing site for any web application is obviously a vital cog in the commerce machine.
It’s our glossy brochure; a way of informing potential users, who often stumble upon it from a search-engine or forum, of the product we’re offering and why it kicks ass.
That’s not as easy as it sounds. A good design takes a lot of time and research to implement.
To that end today YourFlightLog.com is proud to announce the release of the marketing site, available at www.yourflightlog.com. It’s not yet finished, and things will be changing over the coming weeks so keep checking back.
We’re still in private alpha at the moment, so you can’t currently sign up as a new user for the service, but you can register your interest in becoming a Beta User.
The “Beta” phase of development is when we invite early-adopters to use the service (free of charge). These early adopters are pilots who know a bit about computers and the internet and don’t mind putting up with some unpolished parts of the site while it’s being built.
There are a few benefits to becoming a beta user:
If that sounds like you please go over the Beta Programme page and register.
Once we’re ready to release our private Beta version of the website we’ll be back in touch with you about getting started with your free account.
Thanks for visiting - YourFlightLog is looking to release in beta sometime within February 2010, how exciting!
We aim to be the best and easiest way for paraglider and hang-glider pilots to log their flights. Period.
This blog will be used to provide community feedback on progress, roadmaps, and general articles of interest for pilots.
It’s great to have you on board for the ride. Subscribe the the RSS feed and keep checking back regularly.
